Wachiya! My name is Darryl Rose, from Fort Albany First Nation, and I am the Land Based Coordinator for the Choose Life Program.

My role is to facilitate and develop wellness programs and land-based activities within the community, promoting mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.

Since I was a young child, I’ve always enjoyed being on the land; the teachings of my late father instilled in me a deep appreciation for hunting, fishing, camping, and living off the land.  I continue to build on my knowledge of harvesting animals, medicines, and materials of the land.

My goal is to provide the youth and residents of Fort Albany with meaningful opportunities to connect with nature, learn valuable skills, and create a sense of belonging.
